My next destination
After I stayed in Sydney for a couple of weeks to catch up with friends and to sell my car I was contemplating about my next destination. Two destinations were buzzing in my head: Either Tasmania or Western Australia. Once I managed to sell my car the weather in Sydney changed drastically. Sunny days turned into rainy days and this should hold on for a while now. Despite that I already had been to Tasmania last year I decided against WA and to fly back to this beautiful island.
Not a great start
When I arrived I felt the difference. It was way colder with the result that I have to buy warmer clothes to survive for the next couple of weeks. I stayed in Hobart for a few days to get organised and made my way to visit friends in Hamlet Downs (B&B Accomodation) which is close to Mt Field National Park (just 1 hour away from Hobart). Once I got there I got a flu the other day and stayed in bed for about a week. Not a great start I know but well at least I could do a few researches what I’d like to see in Tasmania. Here is a Map of Tasmania with all my gathered destinations I’d like to visit. We’ll see how long it’ll take me to do them all.
Maps that I’m using for my travels
Google maps and maps.me are the maps I’m using on my iPhone. However I mainly use maps.me as I can save my favourite spots in no time. I’ve been using this app for a year now and I love it. It’s a free app with the advantage to use all the maps offline once you downloaded them on your phone. The great thing about this app is that it shows you attractions and hiking tracks which again can be used offline. Like the access to lakes, waterfalls, summits etc. Even if you’re completely lost with no reception at all it can track you down. Getting lost have gone the way of the dodo.
So my whole plan is to start my travels in Hobart and from there to drive down to Hartz Mountains National Park, Bruny Island, head west to Port Arthur, all the way up the east coast… to Launceston, Devonport, Penguin, Cradle Mountain Lake St. Clair National Park, Walls of Jerusalem National Park and all the way back to Hobart. I’ll share all my experiences with you and keep you updated with photos and videos. I’ll also give tips and tricks where my favourite locations are. Stay tuned for more. =) I wish you all a wonderful day.
